About
Dr Bakare is a Nigerian barrister, public international lawyer, scholar, and human rights leader with nearly two decades of experience. His work spans international criminal law, equality and non-discrimination, LGBTQI+ rights, HIV justice, institutional accountability, and the defence of civic space.
He holds a PhD in International Criminal Law and Global Justice from Leiden University, an LLM from the Centre for Human Rights at the University of Pretoria, and an LLB from Obafemi Awolowo University. He is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
