About the work
Law in the service of people and movements.
Dr Bakare is a Nigerian barrister, public international lawyer, scholar and human rights leader with nearly two decades of experience across Africa and beyond.
His work spans international criminal law, equality and non-discrimination, LGBTQI+ rights, HIV justice, institutional accountability and the defence of civic space.
He brings together strategic litigation, rigorous scholarship and community-accountable leadership to build institutions that can move from legal principle to lived justice.
